Credit union's 'income passport' helps 1099 workers apply for credit

 

Recognizing the growing challenges that plague 1099 workers, one credit union is deepening its role as a community development financial institution and expanding lending opportunities to this audience.

Telhio Credit Union in Columbus, Ohio, launched the "Income Passport" solution last month to enable gig, hourly and 1099 workers to compile and establish a history of earnings necessary for loan applications and other credit-based financial offerings.
